This place will amaze you with its unmistakable Kukulcan Pyramid, the most notable sample of Mayan architecture, which, in its peak, the temple dedicated to the God of the Sun is guarded. You must visit the Juego de Pelota, the biggest one in Mesoamerica and explore El Caracol, an imposing observatory where ancient priests studied the cosmos. Travel to the magical town of Izamal, home of an impressive church vestibule that was once a huge Mayan ceremonial center. It is known as the city of the three cultures because of the pyramids built in 'half a town', mixed in with the Spanish convent architecture and Mayan creole houses; this peaceful town will capture your attention. When you get there, you will first encounter the San Antonio de Padua convent and its magnificent vestibule, the second biggest one in the world; get on a buggy and let yourself be caught by this place’s charm.
