In the south of the state of Jalisco is a Magical Town by the name of Mazamitla.

The municipal park La Zanja.
This is a tree-lined space with open eating areas, playgrounds and games for children.
It is located in the more urban zone, near the Monteverde Hotel.
This is an ideal place to have a day with nature.
Not too far from La Zanja is the neighborhood of Los Cazos, where you can find a series of private cabins, as well as the Enchanted Garden, which you can walk comfortably.
You will find wooden bridges atop the peaceful flow of a brook.
As you descend a stairway leading to the forest, you will find the El Salto Waterfall, offering a beautiful natural view.
Visit the iconic architectural jewel of Mazamitla, the Parochial Church of San Cristobal, located in the Main Plaza of the town.
Built in the mid-20th century, its Eastern influences and eclectic style are immediately apparent.
You can also walk by the portals of Allende and Reforma, where you will also find the most traditional shops of the town.
Contact with nature is virtually constant in Mazamitla, and the Cerro del TIgre (TIger Hill) is an excellent place to enjoy this contact.
Situated some 2,800 meters (9,186 ft.
) above sea level, you can appreciate some incomparable views, including parts of the neighboring state of Michoacan, with towns like Valle de Juarez and El Sabino, all by the immense Chapala lagoon.
You can reach the top by hiking, on horseback, or on ATV.
