The municipality of Guerrero is located in the northwestern zone of the state of Coahuila.
It is on the border of Mexico and the United States.
It carries the legacy of Franciscan groups that arrived in the 1700’s to what is known today as the town of Guerrero.
Its main attractions are historic monuments.
Architecture, like the Guerrero Cemetery, founded in the 18th century; the San Juan Temple, taking us back to the year 1780; or the ruins of the San Bernardo Mission, built in 1702; the Guadalupe Cemetery, from the 19th century; and the El Saucillo Hacienda, from the 19th century, today in ruins.
Infinito México recommends Feel the history of the Mexican territories of the past.
The mission of San Bernardo is another unmissable destination.
In 1716 expeditions were launched from here which resulted in the foundation of what is today the state of Texas.
It was a Mexican territory until the year 1847.
To this add the La Pedrera Park, the lake El Bañadero, and the Historic Downtown with
its historic houses from the 18th and 19th century.
Spend some time during the festivities of the 15th and 16th of September, celebrating Mexican Independence, and the 5th of May, celebrating the Battle of Puebla.
On the anniversary of the ejido of Guerrero there are events like bull-riding and a traditional horseback ride, full of color and music.
As for food, we recommend trying their chorizo, their “machacado” (shredded dry beef with eggs), its cuts of beef, and tamales, to name a few.
Things to see and do
