If there was one high-end option to try in or near Ensenada, it would be Corazón de Tierra, if only for how unique, special and ambitious it is.
Part of a food movement in the vein of Noma, the Copenhagen restaurant and title-holder for best restaurant in the world, or the important and forward-thinking Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York, Corazón de Tierra aims to use only local and regional ingredients, many of which are harvested in its own backyard.
The result is impressive, delicious food.
But more impressive still: the menu changes daily, so no one experience is the same.
It is 45 minutes away from Ensenada, but it is worth the trip.
It is a prime example of the incredible culinary talent in México.
If you love wine, it is essential to visit the Guadalupe Valley, only 20 km (12 mi) from Ensenada, for a wine tasting: these are some of the best wines in México.
Scuba diving in Ensenada is always excellent, as well as its extreme activities, all a short drive from the city.
Anglers are bound to have a great time, with some truly incredible fishing nearby.
Lastly, whale sightings in Ensenada are truly breathtaking, and are a must to complete what will already be an unforgettable vacation.
