The Magical Town of Candela is an ideal place to begin an adventure.
It is full of life and possibilities, with impressive landscapes full of nature and history.
When you begin your trip here you will find the Candela train station, built in 1919 by the iconic historic figure, Venustiano Carranza, one of the leading figures in the Mexican Revolution.
It is no longer operational, but is today used for tourism, where much of the town’s history can be appreciated.
Candela owes its name to a rock that stands out in the nearby mountains and resembles a giant candle.
In this municipality, visitors can appreciate the old-school facades, with their historic architecture and varied colors.

It was built in 1694 and is one of the oldest buildings in this town.
Rest and spend some time with your friends and family in the hot springs spa of Ojo Caliente.
Take a dip in the cristalline hot springs, to which some locals attribute healing power, due to the water’s rich mineral contents.
We also recommend a visit to the Higueras Dam.
It is not only a hot springs spa; it is also considered an ideal place for hiking, horseback riding, camping, ATV’s, and a prime spot for photography.
Lastly, you can visit Las Lajitas, a recreational space where you can enjoy nature and refreshment in the middle of a hot day.
It is located less than ten minutes from Candela and offers many relaxing activities.
